What will personal training actually cost you?
Pick a format, a frequency and a market tier. The calculator turns published north-metro ranges into a monthly budget band you can hold against any quote.
Your plan
Ranges are north Indianapolis metro averages from industry surveys, not any one facility's menu.

Uses a 4.33 week month. Couples sessions are priced at 1.3 to 1.5 times a solo hour split two ways; semi-private at 60 to 70 percent of a solo hour per person; short sessions at 60 to 75 percent of an hour.
How the budget calculator works
The tool multiplies a per-session range by sessions per month, then by the months you choose. The ranges come from published surveys of the north Indianapolis market and the format multipliers coaches commonly use.
| Format | Multiplier on a solo hour | Per-person effect |
|---|---|---|
| One-on-one hour | 1.0 | The anchor every other number hangs from |
| Short session, 30 to 45 minutes | 0.60 to 0.75 | Smaller sticker, same value per minute |
| Couples | 1.3 to 1.5 for the pair | Each person pays 65 to 75 percent of a solo hour |
| Semi-private, 3 to 4 people | 0.60 to 0.70 each | A third off in exchange for shared attention |
A worked example
Two sessions a week in the private tier, one-on-one, for three months: $75 to $125 per session times 8.7 sessions a month is roughly $650 to $1,080 a month, or about $1,950 to $3,250 for the three months. Switch the same plan to couples and each partner's share drops to roughly $425 to $810 a month.
Questions people ask
Before you trust the number
Does this calculator show FlexWerk prices?
No. It uses published market ranges for the north Indianapolis metro. Independent coaches set their own rates, and the only way to get a real quote is a conversation with a specific coach, which the free consultation includes.
Which format is cheapest per person?
Semi-private and couples formats split one coached hour, so each person commonly pays 30 to 40 percent less than a solo session. Shorter appointments lower the sticker without lowering the per-minute value.
Can I use an HSA or a lifestyle spending account for this?
Sometimes. General fitness is not a qualified medical expense, but a program that treats a diagnosed condition with a physician letter can qualify, and some employers offer lifestyle spending accounts. See the money guides linked below.
